Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God; that the sixty-six books, as originally written, comprising the Old and New Testaments were verbally inspired by the Spirit of God and were entirely free from error; that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice and the true basis of Christian union.
We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory that God intended for humanity. Because of this all people are in need of God's grace to avoid condemnation when we die. Through Jesus Christ there is hope for everyone who truly believes in him as their only means to escape condemnation and recieve glory.
There is none who are too wicked that they cannot be saved through Jesus Christ and there are none who are good enough that they do not need salvation. There is no way to earn your way into heaven but only to recognize your own wrong and that Jesus Christ came to save wrong-doers. Yet those who are saved in response to Jesus Christ are called to live according to his ways and no longer according to our own desires.
We believe that both Adam and Eve were created in God’s image, equal before God as persons and distinct in their manhood and womanhood. Distinctions in masculine and feminine roles are ordained by God as part of the created order, and should find an echo in every human heart. God has further ordained that husbands would be head over their own households including their wives.
We believe that there are two biblically ordained offices in the church; Pastor (usually called Elder in the Bible) and Deacon. Both of these offices should only be filled by biblically qualified men.
We are affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptists.
The summary of our beliefs can be found in What We Believe on the FEBcentral website.
